The first floor depicted a period officer's home at the turn-of-the-century.  There were many problems with this type of exhibit.  As you can see, security of the historic artifacts were very difficult and the rooms were very congested.  Only around five visitors could comfortably view the exhibit at one time.  The steamer trunk in the background was the property of Mrs. John "Blackjack" Pershing.  Mrs. Pershing was the daughter of Francis E. Warren, who was Wyoming's last Territorial Governor, First Statehood Governor and First U.S. Senator for the State of Wyoming.
