General Information and Rules:

CAMPING -
Military camp, Rendezvous (primitive) camp and modern camp will be available. 
Camping is FREE to those participating in living history events. Family members of living history participants are invited to camp during the event. All camps will be primitive conditions including modern camp. There will not be any facility hook-ups or electricity for anyone.
Set-up for camp prior to 9:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m. daily will be for breaking camp only, no living history will be available at this time. Camping will be allowed from Thursday through Wednesday the next week to participants. Clean-up of camp area will be required of all campers before leaving the area.
Water, wood, ice, hay and a corral will be provided to participants.
The living history camps will be supported by active duty military personnel. Anyone with problems or needs inquire at the registration desk or ask one of these troops. These people will provide support during this event in the form of manpower, communication, first aid, security and any other logistic problem that might arise during this event. 
All meals are left up to the participants to provide. Period cooking is encouraged. Restaurants and grocery stores are easily available off base.
Showers will be provided to participants 24 hours a day in the In-door Running Track. See registration tent to set up a time to take a shower.
The general public has been invited to walk through the camps daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All modern camp equipment must be hidden at this time in living history camps. Clothing worn and equipment used by living history participants need to be representative of the period in which the participant is portraying. Since more than one time period will be camping during the event the members of the Fort D. A. Russell committee reserves the right to police participants for accuracy.

PARKING:
NO DRIVING ON THE RUNNING TRACK ASPHALT, THE ONLY PLACE TO CROSS OVER IS ON THE CEMENT PAD!!!!!
Parking will be provided to participants within easy walking distance from camp. Passes will be provided to all vehicles of participants in order to come and go on base as needed. No vehicles in main camp between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily. Unloading of equipment with vehicles will be allowed and then vehicle must be moved to parking area.

WEAPONS RULES AND REGULATIONS:
During the living history reenactment, never fire directly at another individual or his horse when distances are less than 10 yards (burning powder will carry at least 10 yards). Groups should ensure that all their weapons are safe. For metallic cartridge weapons, groups should ensure only blanks are present (any ammunition carried in cartridge belts must be inert). Ramrods for muzzle loaders should not be used, additionally only powder should be loaded down the barrel, no paper or wads please. Remember, a flask, powder horn, or powder can carried on your person or in your saddlebags is a bomb waiting for a spark of a chance to explode!
Weapons should not be left unattended at any time, please request assistance in camp site for security if weapons are to be left in camp (parades, during dinner/dance, etc.).
During the shoots, safety rules will be followed as provided by the base firing range. All guns will be required to prove no live ammunition when leaving the firing range by the range officer.
No firing of any weapons on base except at the firing range and during the reenactment battle.

HORSE CONSIDERATIONS:
All out of state horses must have a health certificate (Coggins Test will be required).
Wyoming horses should have brand inspections.
Hay will be provided, please notify the committee as to how many horses to expect and the length of your stay.
Picket area/corral will be provided to all horses.
Riding in the parade, please make only forwards maneuver movements in order to keep the parade going.

CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS PARADES:
All who wish to participate in the parades need to notify the Ft. D. A. Russell Committee as soon as possible upon registration so that pickup can be arranged for people needing rides down to the parade route.

SUTLERS/TRADERS ROW:
Registration required, please notify the committee if you plan to sell items during this event so that a contract can be completed and returned. A fee of $10 will be collected at the registration table. Only period items are to be sold. A review committee will have last say on items that are questionable. Absolutely no trading/selling outside of Sutlers/traders row to the general public.

(307) 773-2980, base museum, there is an answering machine and then the message will be passed on.

WEAPONS:
NO FIREARMS/ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OUT OF CAMP. No guns to be fired other than during the shoot or battles without the permission of Ft. D. A. Russell Days Committee permission. No loaded guns in camp.

SHOWERS FOR REENACTORS:
The In-door running track is open 24 hours a day and is available for showers. Check the map for building location.

FOR INFORMATION AND QUESTION:
Participants information sheet must be filled out at the time of registration on everyone in attendance. At the registration tent, base passes will be issued to those who have vehicles, camp sight assignment and any other information concerning the event.
Anyone interested in participating in Living history presentation should notify the Ft. D. A. Russell Days committee/ registration tent with a description of the presentation(s) that you are interested in presenting.
